Planning sought for more than 100 homes in North Cork

The proposed development in Mallow will consist of a mix of three, two and one bed units on a site at Annabella.

Planning permission is being sought for a new large-scale residential development, comprising more than 100 homes, in North Cork.

The application, submitted to Cork County Council, was lodged by Sayvale 18 Ltd last week.

The development will be located in the townland of Annabella, approximately 1.5km outside of Mallow.

The residential build will feature 102 residential dwellings, including 36 three-bed mid and end-of-terrace houses, and 66 apartment/duplex/maisonette units, consisting of 17 three-bedroom units, 33 two-bedroom units, and 16 one-bedroom units. Of the latter 66 units, 32 will be accommodated in eight two-storey buildings in southern and central areas of the site — with the remaining 34 accommodated in a one to three-storey apartment building to the north of the site.

Creche

The plans also include a two-storey creche facility, with capacity to accommodate 57 children.

Development works include provisions for new footpaths, public lighting, and traffic calming measures, as well as pedestrian and cycle connections to the existing residential development to the east and the residential development to the west, which is currently under construction.

Access to the proposed development will be provided via the internal road network of the existing Annabella Park residential development.

An ecological impact assessment was submitted alongside the application, which states the proposed development “will not result in any significant impacts on ecological receptors identified both onsite and in the surrounding area following the implementation of appropriate mitigation measures”.

A decision is due on the application by August 5.

A dedicated website has been set up for the development, which can be viewed by following the link at
