Darkness Into Light fundraiser

Crosshaven will be among almost 30 venues across Cork city and county to hold Darkness Into Light events in aid of Pieta.

Darkness Into Light is the annual flagship fundraiser for the charity, which offers a free counselling service to those suffering from suicide ideation, people who self-harm, and bereaved who have lost a loved one through suicide.

On Saturday, May 10, people will come out in force to take part in walks to raise vital funds for the charity.

Over €3.8m has been raised across the venues in Cork over the years in an event that accounts for 87% of the organisation’s total fundraising. Apart from the official events, many others are organised by individuals, groups, and communities to a charity that has had a huge impact on Irish life.

In 2024, over 51,000 counselling hours were funded by these events alongside over 100,000 helpline calls and texts.
