Judge Mary Dorgan heard an outline of the allegations in the case, but said that she wanted to view CCTV of the incident to see if it was an accidental type of break or what actually occurred.
Sgt John Kelleher asked for the matter to be adjourned so that the investigating garda could be present in court to play the CCTV of the incident and to identify the relevant parties.
Sgt Kelleher said a table worth approximately €2,900 at The Clayton Hotel in Silversprings, Cork, was smashed by a patron at the premises last November.
The criminal damage was caused on November 9 2024, and the man accused of being responsible for it said previously through solicitor Frank Buttimer that he would be pleading guilty to it.
The accused man is 30-year-old John Dunne with an address at 1 Woodford Rise, Clondalkin, Dublin.
Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until April 8 for the CCTV to be viewed.
Sgt Kelleher said that just before midnight on November 9 last, gardaí responded to a report of a group fighting in the lobby of The Clayton Hotel, Silversprings, Cork.
