Status yellow rain warning for Cork cancelled
It will remain mostly cloudy this morning in Cork with “drier and brighter” conditions expected throughout the afternoon.
Met Éireann have cancelled the status yellow rain warning for Cork this weekend, with “drier and brighter” conditions now predicted.
The national forecaster announced this morning that the warning, which came into effect yesterday from 2pm, and was expected to last for 24 hours, is no longer in effect.
Weather forecasts for Munster show that while there will still be outbreaks of rain, which will possibly be heavy at times, it will remain mostly cloudy this morning with “drier and brighter” conditions expected throughout the afternoon.
There will be some sunny spells developing, with fresh and gusty West to North-West winds.
Temperatures throughout today will reach from 6 degrees to 9 degrees, before dropping to between 3 degrees and 6 degrees tonight.
A colder evening is predicted with moderate to fresh Northerly winds, some clear spells, patchy rain and drizzle.
Sunday is expected to be dry and bright with sunny spells, as temperatures will reach from 8 degrees to 11 degrees throughout the day, with moderate to fresh Northerly winds.
Sunday night will be dry and cold, with temperatures dropping between 0 and 4 degrees.
Long clear spells are expected, with some patches of mist developing in light North-West breezes.
A small craft warning for all coasts of Ireland, issued on Thursday, remains in place and will stay in place until midnight tonight.
The warning comes as Northerly winds will reach force 6 or higher.
