Probe launched after man dies in house fire in Rylane

An investigation is under way after a man in his 50s died in a house fire in Cork on Thursday.

Emergency services were called to the scene near Rylane shortly after 12.30pm, where fire services extinguished the fire.

A man’s body was discovered at the scene and it’s understood that foul play is not suspected at this time.

A garda spokesperson said the coroner has been notified and a technical examination of the scene will be conducted.

“A post-mortem will take place in due course,” gardaí added. “Investigations are ongoing.”
