Cork Airport has announced that its Craft Lane bar and restaurant is to close for two months for a major refurbishment, and will reopen in mid-March with an improved offering in an updated setting.

The bar and restaurant, which will be rebranded as ‘Craft’, is managed by food services company KSG.

The company said the refurbished bar and restaurant will celebrate Cork’s food culture and cuisine with an extensive menu showcasing locally produced ingredients, as well as a fresh look and feel.

Along with the refurbishment of the bar and restaurant, a new cocktail bar will also be constructed on the site of the existing Craft Lane kiosk, which is located adjacent to Gate 7.

The new bar and restaurant will feature a new bar counter and seating area and a dedicated restaurant area with more seating to cater for 150 customers at any given time.

Gourmet reputation

KSG chief Michael Gleeson said the renovated bar would greatly enhance the food and beverage offering at Cork Airport, while celebrating Cork’s gourmet reputation.

“Following the opening of the new Roasted Notes cafe and wine bar last year, KSG is again committed to working with the team at Cork Airport to deliver yet another high-quality experience for passengers,” he said.

“Craft will be an opportunity for passengers to enjoy a fantastic Cork-focused menu, showcasing delicious food prepared with locally sourced ingredients, along with some new beverages and cocktails.”

Thrilled

Roy O’Driscoll, Cork Airport deputy managing director, said he and his team had been working closely with KSG ahead of the renovations of Craft Lane and he was “thrilled” to see the refurbishment works commence.

“I have every confidence that our passengers will love the new Craft bar and restaurant when it reopens to the public in mid-March,” he said.

Throughout the course of the refurbishment and upgrade works, alcoholic and non-alcoholic beverages will be available in Cork Airport at Roasted Notes Café and Wine Bar and in the Food Republic food court, while the new cocktail bar will open for business on January 31.

Craft Lane is to close from Monday, January 20, and is expected to open as Craft in mid-March.
