The case against a man charged with producing a screwdriver in Cork city centre and assault causing harm to a French visitor was before Cork District Court yesterday.
Sergeant Aisling Murphy said the Director of Public Prosecutions had decided that the case should proceed by indictment.
Defence solicitor Eddie Burke asked for a copy of the prosecution evidence so that the defence could decide if a plea of guilty or not guilty would be entered.
Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until February 6 at Cork District Court for that purpose.
Adam Corcoran, aged 30, with an address at an apartment at John Barry House, Midleton, Co Cork, is charged with assaulting a French man causing him harm at Patrick St, Cork, on Tuesday, July 23, 2024, and production of a screwdriver during the incident.
