Cork actor Cillian Murphy's Small Things Like These and the Kneecap movie are among the movies nominated for awards at the Irish Film and Television Academy awards (Ifta).

The movie based on the Belfast rap group Kneecap has 17 nominations, including best film, best actor and director categories.

Tim Mielants’s Small Things Like These, a much-admired Claire Keegan adaptation featuring Cillian Murphy, is in second place with 10 nominations.

Kathleen Is Here has seven, and Spilt Milk and The Apprentice, both have four.

Say Nothing, the tale of the Troubles derived from a Patrick Radden Keefe book, has the most nominations for a drama series with 10.

Winners will be revealed during the 22nd annual IFTA Awards Ceremony, which takes place on 14 February, at the Dublin Royal Convention Centre.
