More than 20 secondary school students recently took part in a corporate initiative aimed at supporting women in emergency accommodation in Cork.
The initiative, run by the team at PepsiCo in Little Island, welcomed 26 transition year students from various Cork schools, including from St Mary’s Secondary School in Midleton, on-site to join the team for a collaborative charity event.
The event, hosted in Little Island, saw the students help to pack 100 care packages for women staying at Cork’s Edel House, which is a part of the Good Shepherd charity.
The care packages, put together by both the students and staff at PepsiCo, were filled with essential toiletries, which will be used to support those in need of emergency accommodation.
In addition to the curated care packages, PepsiCo also donated €10,000 to support the work of Good Shepherd Cork.
