EuroMillions players in Cork have been urged to check their tickets as one lucky person scooped almost €56,000 in last night’s draw.

The Cork player matched five numbers to win €55,988. 

Meanwhile in Dublin, another player matched five numbers and one lucky star to win €179,667.

The Dublin player purchased their winning quick pick ticket on the day of the draw at Spar, Carpenterstown, Castleknock, Dublin 15, while the Cork player’s winning quick pick ticket was also purchased on the day of the draw from Twohig's SuperValu on Strand St in Kanturk.

The winning numbers in last night’s EuroMillions draw were: 12, 27, 36, 37, 42 and the lucky stars were 6 and 7.

The National Lottery is urging all players in the Castleknock and Kanturk areas to check their tickets carefully and if you’re holding the winning ticket, be sure to contact the National Lottery prize claims team on 1800 666 222 or email claims@lottery.ie to arrange the collection of your prize.

Emma Monaghan, National Lottery spokesperson, said: “What an incredible night for our Irish players with not one, but two big wins in last night’s EuroMillions draw!

“Over 43,000 players in Ireland celebrated prizes in the EuroMillions and Plus games.

“Among them, one lucky player matched five numbers plus the lucky star to win €179,667, while another matched five numbers to secure €55,988.

“We’re urging all our players in Castleknock and Kanturk to check their tickets carefully and get ready to claim these fantastic prizes!” 

While there was no winner of last night's EuroMillions jackpot, next Tuesday's draw rolls to an estimated €60 million.
