Cork Airport announces additional flights for Six Nations Rugby matches

Emerald Airlines, the operator of Aer Lingus Regional services, is adding extra flights on its Cork to Bristol service as well as new flights from Cork to Edinburgh to cater for rugby fans heading to the Six Nations Championship, Cork Airport has announced.

These flights will be operated on an Airbus A320, providing more seats for passengers wishing to attend the upcoming games.

Extra flights Cork to/from Bristol 

 To make it easier for supporters heading to Cardiff for the Wales v Ireland Six Nations match on Saturday, February 22, 2025, Aer Lingus Regional is adding extra flights on the Cork to Bristol route.

• Outbound flight: Friday, February 21, 2025, 14:00 

• Return flight: Sunday, February 23, 2025, 15:40 

These flights are in addition to existing flights already available over that weekend.

New flights Cork to/from Edinburgh 

For fans travelling to the Scotland v Ireland Six Nations match in Edinburgh on Sunday, February 9, 2025, Aer Lingus Regional is adding new flights from Cork to Edinburgh.

• Outbound flight: Friday, February 7, 2025, 12:50 

 • Return flights: Sunday, February 9, 2025, 23:35 and Monday, February 10, 2025, 14:50

“We are delighted to be supporting rugby fans by launching new flights from Cork to Edinburgh and adding extra flights on our popular Cork to Bristol service," Ian Lough, head of commercial at Emerald Airlines, said.

“These additional services will make it easier for supporters to travel and cheer on Ireland during the Six Nations, ensuring a seamless journey for all.”

“There are lots of reasons to look forward to the spring - better weather, longer days and of course, the start of the Six Nations Championship!

“With three Irish away games this year, you cannot beat the atmosphere of a rugby international in the likes of Murrayfield or Principality Stadium.

“It's brilliant to see Emerald Airlines operating extra Bristol services and new Edinburgh services to cater for the many fans travelling to cheer on Ireland. 

“Seats on these services will be snapped up in no time so early booking is strongly advised," he said.
