The Corkmas festive market opened on Emmet Place today as the holiday spirit continues to flow through Leeside.

Twenty different traders are offering everything from different foods to artisan jewellery and Irish hand-knitted pieces.

Emmet Place will be decked with larger than life like a giant gingerbread house, a whimsical Candy Land display, and Santa’s post box for the little ones to send their letters to the Big Man in the North Pole.

Those who wish to have a physical reminder of the event can step inside the giant snow globe for a winter wonderland photo op.

The market is open today until 10pm.

Meanwhile, the Corkmas Santa Experience will open tomorrow, and he will be based in Santa’s Grotto on Emmet Place.

Bookings can be made on the Corkmas website.

The market opens tomorrow and Sunday from 10am to 8pm.

A spokesperson for the events told The Echo that the events will go ahead as planned despite the various weather warnings - however, they urge event goers to check social media for updates in case plans change.

The market will run every Thursday through Sunday until December 22.

From November 23 to December 22 the opening hours are:

  • Friday: 4 pm to 8pm
  • Saturday: 11 am to 8pm
  • Sunday: 11 am to 7:30pm
