Four vehicles were involved in a collision which occurred on the N40 eastbound this morning.

A garda spokesperson said gardaí received a report of a road traffic collision on the N40 eastbound between Junction 4 (Sarsfield) and Junction 5 (Togher).

The collision involving four vehicles occurred at approximately 8:30am.

The garda spokesperson said no injuries have been reported at this time.

A collision has been reported on the N40 between junction 4 Sarsfield and junction 5 Togher. 

One lane is affected.

Delays are being reported on a number of routes in Cork city this morning. 

The N40 Bloomfield is busy heading westbound and Transport Infrastructure Ireland (TII) is reporting delays on the N8 and N25. 

The current travel times between Glanmire North and the Kinsale Road is reported to be around 17 minutes. 

Surface water is being reported in a number of areas. 

Meanwhile, TII is urging is drivers to take extra care on the roads in Cork tomorrow. 

It says the status orange rain warning for Cork and Kerry could lead to river and coastal flooding, dangerous travelling conditions and travel disruption.
