Gardaí investigating as man's body found in Cork town
A garda spokesperson said the results of the post-mortem would determine the course of the investigation, and the Coroner had been notified
Gardaí say they are investigating “all the circumstances” surrounding the discovery of the body of a man in a Co Cork town on Wednesday morning.
The man’s body was found on Ashe Street in Youghal at approximately 9am on Wednesday.
A garda spokesperson told that the body had been removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital (CUH) where a postmortem examination is expected to occur.
The garda spokesperson said the results of the post-mortem would determine the course of the investigation, and the Coroner had been notified.
A statement from the garda press office said:
“The body has since been removed from the scene to Cork University Hospital where a post-mortem examination will take place at a later date, the results of which will determine the course of the investigation,” the statement said.
“The Coroner has been notified.”
