Gardaí have issued an appeal for anyone with information in relation to these incidents or road users with video footage to contact them.

Gardaí in Cork are appealing for information following a number of incidents including criminal damage at a property and a road traffic collision which occurred on Friday evening.

The incident involving criminal damage at a property in Shanakiel which took place at around 5.40pm on Friday. No injuries linked to the incident were reported.

A short time later, at approximately 6.10pm, a road traffic collision took place on the Churchfield Road when a motorcycle collided with a pedestrian. 

The motorcyclist and pillion passenger failed to remain at the scene, a statement from the Garda Press Office said.

The male pedestrian (60s) was taken to Cork University Hospital for treatment following the collision. His condition is currently described as serious.

A suspected firearm was seized by Gardaí and a man in his 20s was arrested afterwards. 

The man is currently being detained under Section 30 of the Offences against the State Act in the southern region.

Investigations are ongoing.
