The team behind the new local Glanmire store have said they are keen to create a positive impact in the local community and will be donating €2,000 to local efforts to repair the local Sarsfields pitch.

The pitch was damaged in 2023 during Storm Babet, when the local club opened its gates to allow floodwater in, to help reduce damage to peoples’ homes.

“At Domino’s we love to support the communities we serve, and we’re delighted to be able to give something back to the Glanmire community,” Mr McDonnell said.

We really admire the efforts Sarsfields made to help their community and we hope we can contribute in some way towards rebuilding the local pitch.

PRO of Sarsfields Cork, Sarah McCarthy, said: “It's so lovely to see a new business in Glanmire investing in the community.

“We at Sarsfields Hurling Club are delighted to receive a very generous donation of €2,000 from Domino’s that will go towards our redevelopment fund. Best of luck with your new venture.” The local community has been invited to the official opening of the new store which will take place on May 23 from 3pm until 6pm. The donation will also be presented to Sarsfields at the launch event.

Domino’s has said it is on the lookout for people to be part of the in-store team for the opening of upcoming new stores.
