The venue opens at 5pm and Springsteen and his band will be on stage at 7pm sharp - there is no support act and he is expected to play for three hours.

Bruce Springsteen is set to play for 40,000 fans in Supervalu Páirc Uí Chaoimh tonight, his first Cork gig in over a decade.

Tickets for the concert sold out in just over an hour last November, and businesses in the area are predicting a bumper evening.

If you were lucky enough to snag a ticket, here’s everything you should know in advance of the show, which will open at 5pm:

Weather

Met Éíreann has issued a status yellow thunderstorm warning for Cork from 3pm until 8pm tonight.

Heavy downpours with thunderstorms and even hail are predicted, with the possibility of spot flooding and poor visibility leading to potentially hazardous travelling conditions.

Attendees should bring a hat, raincoat or poncho to the gig, as umbrellas will not be allowed into the concert venue, which is not covered.

Safety

All patrons will be searched prior to entry to the stadium - any bags bigger than an A4 piece of paper will not be permitted into the venue, and there are no storage facilities available.

The gardaí have advised that “drinking alcohol in public is not permitted and gardaí will operate a zero tolerance approach.”

Portaloos are in place in the vicinity of the stadium for use by patrons, and there will also be bins provided in the vicinity of the stadium to dispose of any litter.

Attendees should ensure that their mobile phone is fully charged, to ensure that you can present e-ticket at bag checks for entry to stadium.

Pedestrians will be given priority after the concerts, with vehicles in the area to be held for pedestrian safety.

Ticketmaster is the only legitimate seller for the event, and fans are advised to be wary of ticket fraud online or bogus sellers outside the stadium.
