Gardaí and emergency services remain at the scene of a collision between a car and motorcycle collision in Ballydesmond.

The incident was reported just before 8:00 am this morning, 

A garda spokesperson said that local traffic diversions remain in place.

GARDAÍ and emergency services are currently attending the scene of a road traffic collision in Cork.

The incident, which involved a car and a motorcycle, occurred in Ballydesmond, shortly before 8.00am.

Local traffic diversions are in place, and motorists have been advised to take care on approach.

Meanwhile, gardaí are appealing to witnesses of a road traffic collision in Cork yesterday evening to come forward.

The collision, involving a motorbike and a van, happened shortly before 6pm at Ballinahina at White's Cross.

The motorcyclist, a man aged in his 20s, was pronounced dead at the scene.

No other serious injuries to people were reported.

A garda spokesperson said that the road remains closed this morning and a technical examination of the scene will be conducted.

"Gardaí are appealing to any witnesses of this collision to come forward.

"Any road users who may have camera footage (including dash-cam) and were travelling in the Ballinahina area between 5:45pm and 6:10pm are asked to make this footage available to Gardaí.

"Anyone with information is asked to contact Watercourse Road Garda Station on 021 4558260, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any Garda Station," the garda spokesperson said.
