Joy in the Park set to return to Cork for an afternoon of festival fun 

Joy in the Park will returnto Cork for its third outing in July. 

CORK’S Joy In The Park is returning this summer for a third consecutive year of music, entertainment, and well-being.

Taking place at Fitzgerald’s Park, the event will be held on July 21 from 12pm to 6pm.

The free admission festival offers an eclectic mix of live performances, spoken word, and family entertainment with a lineup of performers from across the country.

Entertainers on the day include Dublin band, Aslan, with vocals from Lee Tomkins, as well as Cork’s The Service, indie rockers, The Dagenham Yanks and some of the city’s most celebrated independent artists, such as Ger Wolfe, Fiona Kennedy, Myles Gaffney, Polly Barrett and Stuart Wilde. 

Also featured in this year’s programme of events are the Cork Circus Factory, Galway’s Moth and Butterfly, Ringo: Music Bingo and meet-and-greets with the Eccentric Hatter’s Crew.

Wellbeing workshops

Movement classes for kids will also be available with Kinderama and meditation for all ages with Cork Yoga Centre.

Created in partnership with the Cork Mental Health Foundation, the event will also offer a host of creative activities from arts and crafts to wellness workshops.

Event partners, HSE Cork & Kerry Community Health Action Zone, and a number of organisations including SHINE, MyMind, GROW, Cork Counselling Services, Jigsaw and Comhairle na nÓg, will also be present at the festival.

They will be joined by PIETA, Samaritans, Shine A Light, AWARE, The National Learning Network and Mental Health Ireland, who will be at the event as part of the support hub, where attendees can meet in person and be introduced to the many support services available across the county.

Funding for the event comes under the HSE Cork Connecting For Life Programme, Cork City Council Arts Office, Cork City Council Community Funding, Minding Creative Minds and Cork Mental Health Foundation.
