A man arrested in connection with an altercation in the city centre last weekend is due to appear in court next week.

A man arrested in connection with an altercation in the city centre last weekend is due to appear in court next week.

Six men were arrested on Sunday night following what Gardaí described as “an altercation involving a large number of people”.

The incident occurred at approximately 9.40pm on Caroline Street, when a number of Garda units responded to reports of an altercation.

The six men were arrested for public order offences.

In an update this morning, a Garda spokesperson said the six men have been released from Garda custody.

“A file will now be prepared for the Director of Public Prosecutions.

“One of these men is due to appear before Cork City Court on Wednesday, 24th April 2024,” the spokesperson added.
