Garda investigations are ongoing following an incident in a Cork city suburb last week where a young man received a suspected gunshot wound.

The incident happened in the Mahon area last Thursday morning.
“Gardaí were alerted to an incident at a property in Mahon, Cork in the early hours of Thursday morning, 11th April 2024,” a Garda spokesperson told .
“A male (20s) presented to ambulance services with a suspected gunshot wound.
“He was receiving medical treatment in Cork University Hospital.”
The spokesperson said that Gardaí are investigating “all the circumstances surrounding this incident” and that “investigations are ongoing”.
