Man accused of stealing bicycles in Cork ‘had six different IDs’

Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until April 10.

A 29-year-old man who is alleged to have six different IDs across Europe was remanded in custody with consent to bail.

Yousoof Angelina faces a number of burglary charges at Cork District Court.

The charges against him refer to burglary at Marine Villas, Monkstown, Co Cork, on January 25, and burglary at Shamrock Place, Ringaskiddy, Co Cork, the following day.

He is charged with stealing a bicycle at Ensign Bar, Monkstown, on January 26, stealing another bicycle at another location in Monkstown and stealing one at Ringaskiddy on the same date.

He is also charged with having a quantity of cannabis for his own use.

Finally, he is charged with failing to produce a valid passport or equivalent document at Togher Garda Station on January 26.

The man — named on the charges as Yousoof Angelina — was remanded in custody with consent to bail of €300 and an independent surety of €500, half of which is to be lodged.

Other conditions include supplying gardaí with an agreed address and keeping a curfew to be at that address from 10pm to 7am daily.

He would also be required to co-operate with gardaí in relation to documentation to establish his identity and to sign daily at his local Garda station.

Sergeant John Kelleher said: “There are six different IDs across Europe for this man and DPP directions are still awaited.

“Gardaí are still liaising with Interpol to establish his identity.”

Judge Mary Dorgan adjourned the case until April 10.
