Met Éireann has issued a status yellow wind warning for Cork with Storm Jocelyn expected to bring 'very strong’ and gusty southwest to west winds tomorrow. 

The arrival of the storm comes hot on the heels of Storm Isha which left thousands of people across Ireland without power. 

The weather forecaster has issued a status yellow wind warning this morning for several counties, which will come into effect from 5pm on Tuesday and will remain in place until 2am on Wednesday.

The status yellow wind warning affects: Cork, Limerick, Tipperary, Waterford, Carlow, Dublin, Kildare, Kilkenny, Laois, Longford, Louth, Meath, Offaly, Westmeath, Wexford, Wicklow, Cavan, Monaghan, Roscommon, Leitrim, and Sligo, and is expected to bring with it ‘very strong’ and gusty southwest to west winds with large coastal waves and wave overtopping, difficult traveling conditions, and potential for displaced objects and debris.

A separate status orange wind warning has been issued for Donegal, Galway, and Mayo, which will come into effect from 6pm on Tuesday and will remain in effect until 2am on Wednesday.
