Omo Adebowale, who works with children in residential care, was matched with Princess from Dublin.

SOCIAL care worker Omo Adebowale from Douglas is set to appear on tonight’s episode of First Dates Ireland.

The 31-year-old told The Echo that he decided to apply for First Dates after “my mates egged me on — they said ‘you’d be perfect for this’, so I thought what the hell, I’ll give it a try.

“First Dates Ireland is something I’ve watched for years, and I’ve always wondered what the people and crew are like — I wanted to experience it for myself, so I applied.”

From then, he said: “I had to go into RTÉ offices in Dublin for a face-to-face meeting with the producers, they wanted to try to get a feel of who I am.

“They asked me what my ideal sort of date would be, how long I’ve been in the dating pool, what I’ve been looking for.”

He explained: “I was looking for someone mature, on the same level as me in terms of drive, career, interests, and to be fair, they did a good job!”

Omo will appear on First Dates Ireland at 9.35pm on RTÉ2.
