Motorists are being urged to take extra caution on the roads in Cork this evening ahead of what is expected to be a very cold night.
A yellow low-temperature/ice warning is in place with Met Éireann saying some wintry flurries will develop tonight in the south, with a light dusting of snow occurring locally.
Posting on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, Cork County Council urged motorists to drive carefully.
"Please drive carefully and be aware of possibly treacherous conditions with black ice. While we will be treating all P1 and P2 routes, changing weather conditions can effect [sic] treatments so please take extreme care and be conscious of pedestrians and cyclist," it said.
