Despite a weather warning in place for Cork on New Year’s Eve, Corkonians young and old still headed out to ring in the New Year in style.

There were a number of events taking place around the county, with something for families with young kids as well as those who wanted to dance the night away after toasting the end of 2023.

A family friendly gathering took place in Bantry, with festivities including a live DJ kicking off at 9pm in Wolfe Tone Square.

Organised by the Bantry Tourism and Development Association, the free event featured a spectacular firework display from 10pm.

Parents and children were among the attendees, wrapping up warm against the wind and rain to watch the fireworks.

In Cork city, celebrations took place in a number of bars, with The Metropole, Voodoo rooms and more all hosting ticketed New Years Eve Parties.

These included Crawford and Co on Anglesea Street, which played host to a White Party by organisers CIRCO.

The New Year’s Eve party offered a free glass of prosecco with your ticket and featured 4 DJs across 2 rooms, a photo booth, body painting, games and giveaways.
