Murder investigation: Gardaí continue to search home of Tina Satchwell

GARDAÍ are understood to be using digging equipment to search a home in Youghal after a man aged in his 50s was arrested yesterday on suspicion of murder following the disappearance of Tina Satchwell in Co Cork.
A home on Grattan Street in Youghal was cordoned off as investigations continue this morning with digging machinery and tools brought in as Garda technical experts arrived at the property for a search which is expected to last a number of days.
Ms Satchwell, originally from Fermoy, has been missing from her home on Grattan Street, Youghal, since March 2017.
Gardaí looking into the circumstances of her disappearance have upgraded their enquiries to a murder investigation.

On Tuesday, a man in his 50s was arrested on suspicion of murder and detained under Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda station in Co Cork.
He can be held for up to 24 hours, excluding breaks.
A family liaison officer has been appointed to Ms Satchwell’s family.
