Cork driver learns the hard way: 'Never tamper with the clamper'

One Cork motorist made a bad day even worse when he attempted to drive his car with a clamp attached to the wheel.

Gardaí shared an image of the car on social media, with the clamp jammed between the tyre and wheel arch on the driver’s side.

“You clamp make this stuff up!” they wrote. “The Cork RPU ( Road Policing Unit) spotted this car trying to drive off with the clamp attached.” When Gardaí checked, it emerged the driver also had no tax or insurance for the vehicle and it was seized.

Gardaí confirmed the driver is now looking at a court appearance and added: “Never tamper with the clamper!”
