Update: Five people taken to hospital following Carr’s Hill crash

Five people have been taken to hospital following a collision involving three cars on Carr's Hill this afternoon. 

Gardai say that the five people were taken to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. 

The N28 has now reopened.

Earlier: 

Emergency services attended the scene of a serious crash on Carr’s Hill between Douglas and Carrigaline.

The alarm was raised at around 2.30pm following a collision on the N28 where there was also a crash yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services, including three fire brigade units from Cork city and one from Carrigaline, rushed to the scene.

Gardai are also at the scene which has seen traffic increase in the past hour or so with very little movement in either direction.

It is not yet known if anyone was injured in the crash or how many vehicles were involved.

Two fire brigade units left the scene while two remained, along with gardaí, to deal with the incident.
