Tessa Garry: Diagnosed with stage four, high risk, neuroblastoma.

A RETIRED UCC lecturer has turned to play writing and is putting on two one-act plays.

Accounting lecturer Derry Cotter, who is also a published author, has had previous success with The Inheritance and more recently Lee Side Story, performed in the Opera House, which also featured John Spillane.

His latest plays, The Journey and Per Verse, will be performed tomorrow at the Dan Donovan Theatre at Presentation College, Mardyke. The play is being put on by Leeside Drama Group and Coachford Players.

Derry is donating all the proceeds from tonight’s show to the Little Miss Tessa Trust Fund, to help 22-month-old Tessa Garry who was diagnosed with stage four, high risk, neuroblastoma last December.

Tessa’s dad, Mark Garry, and godmother Una were both past pupils of Mr Cotter.
