The premises, located just on the outskirts of the town, adjacent to Lidl, is George believes, the perfect location for the new venture.

"There are three Anytime Fitness gyms located in Dublin, all of which have been very successful.

"We're delighted to be opening up in Ballincollig and offering a 24-hour service.

"Especially for people who do shift work in the locality such as Gardaí, staff at VM ware etc, we're hoping that the gym will be convenient," George told The Echo

The gym is also ideal for individuals who travel frequently as members can utilise the facilities at any of the gyms.

Recently inducted into Cork City FC’s hall of fame, the Whitechurch native is excited to be at the helm of the Anytime Fitness Gym, having been involved in several sports companies in Asia and elsewhere in Europe since his retirement.

"I'm delighted to be working in such a positive industry, promoting health and fitness.

"It's a really refreshing business to be in," George said.

"I'm excited for Anytime Fitness Ballincollig to open in March as it will have a health club feel at affordable membership costs," George added.

There will be 24-hour security on-site at the new gym, which will have state of the art facilities and unique benefits such as an app with over 2,000 classes.
