Gardaí have arrested a man and a woman in connection with the fatal assault of a man in Dublin City on Monday.

Qayyum Balogun died after suffering multiple stab wounds following a gig on Grafton Street.

Gardaí and emergency services responded to an incident on Grafton Street. He was found in a serious condition at approximately 3 a.m.

He was removed from the scene and taken to St. James's Hospital, where he was pronounced deceased a short time later.

On Tuesday, a woman in her 20s was arrested as part of the investigation.

On Wednesday, a man in his 20s was also arrested by gardaí as part of the investigation.

They are currently detained pursuant to Section 4 of the Criminal Justice Act 1984 at a Garda Station in the Dublin area.

Gardaí say investigations are ongoing.
