The injury unit at Mallow General Hospital has been re-opened.

The unit was closed for a number of weeks, however a spokesperson confirmed this evening (Wednesday, April 15th) that it had been re-opened following a review by management.

The unit will be temporarily located within the out-patient building to the rear of the hospital.

It is open seven days a week from 8am to 8pm and can be contacted on 022- 30379.

Meanwhile, the spokesperson for the hospital said that the Medical Assessment Unit at the facility, which was also closed, will remain closed "due to infection control".

This will be reviewed again on Friday (April 17th).
