Meanwhile, St Vincent de Paul (SVP) in Glanmire is preparing food hampers for a number of families in need in the local area.

SVP has appealed to the public for donations of any food items or vouchers to help the most vulnerable in the community during the Covid-19 crisis.

The food hampers will be distributed on Tuesday, April 28 and those who wish to donate are asked to drop their food items in the Adoration Room on the grounds of Saint Joseph’s church.

President of SVP Glanmire, Geraldine O’Donnell recommended that food items including butter, milk, and sugar would be donated.
