Cork community coming together to prepare meals for those most in need
Volunteers in Kinsale rallied together this week to prepare food packages for people most in need.

The spirit of Cork’s community continues to be seen across the county with good deeds being carried out for the most vulnerable and vital donations being made to frontline staff for much-needed PPE.

The people of Kinsale are the latest to showcase such spirit as local volunteers rallied together this week to prepare food packages for people who are isolating and for those in need during the pandemic.

Volunteers gathered at Hamlets of Kinsale to prepare the food packs supported by Kinsale Good Food Circle’s member The Bulman Bar who opened its kitchen and prepared 70 meals in total.

The meals were distributed to homes in the Kinsale community by volunteers.

Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) was provided to the volunteers preparing the food packs by Kinsale Community School.

The initiative was supported by Kinsale Lions Club and funding was provided from the local community.

Meanwhile in Kinsale, Smith’s SuperValu has been collecting shopping for the people in the community who need it the most.

A volunteer group has been set up and has been delivering the donated items of shopping to people in the area.

This week, an exceptional donation was made by a man who wished to remain anonymous after he took the time to do a full trolley of shopping and donate the items to the worthy cause.
