Boots to cut 4,000 jobs: Cork stores not affected

Boots stores in Cork will not be affected by significant job cuts at the company, it has been confirmed.

Boots UK today announced plans to take action to “mitigate the significant impact that Covid-19 has had on the business” with reports that up to 4,000 jobs are to be cut across the company.

However, Boots Ireland has confirmed that its stores in Cork and around the country are not affected by the announcement which relates to the restructuring of Head Office, store and optician roles across the UK.

A spokesperson for the company said that Boots Ireland continues to monitor and review operations across the country.

Boots Ireland currently employs over 2,000 people in Ireland.
