Michael Jackson Tribute Show at The Opera House cancelled 

A tribute show to Michael Jackson, ‘The Michael Jackson History Show’, which was due to take place in May at Cork Opera House, has been cancelled.

The Echo reported last week that the Michael Jackson History Show, due to take place at Cork Opera House on May 14th, was in danger of being cancelled.

This morning, Cllr. Des Cahill confirmed that the tribute show to the ‘King of Pop’, has now been cancelled. Former Lord Mayor and on the board of Cork Opera House, Cllr. Cahill confirmed to The Echo that, “to my understanding, it was the tour who cancelled, not by Cork Opera House”.

An Opera House spokesperson has now confirmed to The Echo that “Showtime Australia, the producers of 'Michael Jackson HIStory Show' have cancelled the upcoming tour of Ireland in May 2019, including the Cork date scheduled for Tuesday 14th May.” 

There were approximately 260 tickets sold prior to the cancellation. Ticket holders can get to a full refund for the event by contacting the Opera House Box Office on 021 427 0022.

Michael Jackson has made headlines again in the wake of explosive documentary ‘Leaving Neverland’, which shares the story of two men who were allegedly sexually abused by the popstar when they were children.

The documentary has resulted in radio stations across the globe pulling Jackson's’ music from their playlists. 

Producers of The Simpsons’ have also pulled 1993 episode ‘Stark Raving Dad’, from circulation, in which the singer starred in.
