Flights from Cork Airport to Zurich are set to resume from Sunday July 5.

SWISS will recommence the service once a week initially, arriving into Cork at 0845 and departing from Cork at 0935.

Niall MacCarthy Managing Director at Cork Airport said “We are thrilled to see SWISS take off again from Cork Airport this summer. It is a testament to Swiss International Air Lines confidence in the Cork-Zurich route and the market we have nurtured.

“We are confident that SWISS will help our efforts to reboot tourism across the south of Ireland and add to Cork Airport’s track record of bringing significant numbers of holiday and business visitors to the South of Ireland region,” he added.

SWISS, the airline of Switzerland, are looking to expand their network over the coming weeks and months.

As travel restrictions have been eased across Europe, a third of the company’s normal flight volume will resume, with 85% of destinations to be served.

The initial focus will be on onward connections to various European destinations from Zurich and Geneva, with further destinations also being added to their intercontinental route network.

Cork Airport and SWISS both require their customers to wear a face mask throughout their entire journey from arrival at the airport, and passengers are advised to carry an adequate supply of face masks. Vending machines at Cork airport also supply face masks.

Cork Airport has reassured passengers that they are fully mobilized to ensure the highest levels of health and safety for customers.
