Given their sporting interests, it is perhaps not surprising that football featured in Emma Farmer and Conor Cotter’s wedding day.

Emma, from Aghada, and Conor, from Kilmichael, first met seven years ago on a night out in Reardens and undoubtedly had plenty to talk about.

“We were both GAA-obsessed, Conor plays hurling and football for Kilmichael and I play ladies’ football for Aghada. We also love soccer too. I’m a die-hard Manchester United fan and Conor supports Arsenal.”

Emma, a secondary school teacher, and Conor, who works in HR in County Hall, now live in Aghada.

The couple got engaged on the grounds of the Park Hotel in Kenmare.

They were married at St Finbarr’s Church in Kilmichael on December 28.

“We were both very lucky to have all our family at it, our little daughter Ellie, both sets of parents, and my Nana Anne,” said Emma.

The bride had four bridesmaids: Lisa Ring, Laura Burchill, Emma Keoghan, and Brid O’Regan, and the groom had four groomsmen: Brendan Cotter, Oliver McCarthy, James O’Leary, and Denny Quinlan.

“The ceremony was lovely and that’s all thanks to Fr Joe Coughlan, a family friend of the Cotters, who did a lovely wedding Mass, and Lynda Sloane-Cusack, who was the wedding singer and whose voice is amazing,” Emma said.

The bride wore a Jesus Peiro dress from Say I Do in Midleton.

“My shoes were Converse as I don’t do heels,” said Emma.

The bride’s hair was by Dawn Monaher and make-up was by Regina from Core Beauty Midleton.

Conor’s suit was from Suited Menswear in Midleton.

After the ceremony, the couple held a reception for their guests at the Heights Hotel in Killarney, but not before stopping off at Kilmichael GAA pitch and Ross Castle for some pictures.

Their videographer was the “absolutely brilliant” Juraj Novotny.

Their cake was by @Chefannajane and their wedding car was by Cork Wedding Cars.

“I don’t think I can pick out a most memorable part of the day, it was all just unique in its own way and we loved every minute of it,” Emma said.
