Cork couple Liz Power, from Midleton, and Jerry O’Connor, from Boherbue, first met at a Halloween house party in college in 2013.
However, it wasn’t until their paths crossed again almost four years later on Tinder that they went on their first date.

The coast of Sorrento provided the backdrop when Jerry proposed to Liz in October 2023.
The couple were married at the Orangery at Maryborough House Hotel on December 14 with Liz saying they were blessed to have their close friends and family in their bridal party.

“I was lucky to have my besties, Tara and Niall and sister Catherine by my side. I couldn’t have asked for more,” Liz said.
“Jerry also had a great group of lads helping him out; Micheal, Shane and Donal. A particular thank you to Donal, who came to Jerry’s rescue when he realised his pants was too short!”
The bride’s gown and veil were from Bella Bleu Vintage
“Lucy was a pleasure to deal with from start to finish and brought a calming presence to the whole dress shopping experience! My shoes were by Loeffler Randall purchased from The White and Gold. Annette O' Brien did our make-up & Christine O Sullivan did our hair. They were so much fun! I could not have asked for a better atmosphere while we got ready the morning of the wedding,” said Liz.

Lynda Sloane Cusack sang for the ceremony.
“She even personalised a few songs for us which added that extra touch,” the bride said.
The couple had a minimal monochrome theme for their wedding and kept their décor and flowers very simple.
“Kate from “Mary and Kate Flowers” did an amazing job and totally understood the vision. I was thrilled with the flowers and the top table décor,” said Liz.

“He beautifully captured so many special moments throughout the day,” the bride said.

“Juraj of “Uray Weddings” did the videography – he just blended in for the day, you wouldn’t even know he was recording which was super,” she added.

The couple had not one, but two wedding cakes.
“We had an amazing cheesecake by the Wilder Grazer, which was made up of different Irish cheeses along with a more traditional cake by a small East Cork company “Mental Bake-Down” which kept everyone happy.”

The couple said there were many memorable moments from the day and having all their friends and family, who travelled near and far to celebrate the day with them, made the day even more special.
“I was particularly grateful to have my Granny Nora and Gran Aunt Anne there on the day. They are such characters! We were also delighted to have our nieces and nephews there to celebrate with us. Two of Jerry’s nieces, Orla and Emer did a brilliant job entertaining us all with some lovely Christmas songs during the reception,” said Liz.
