A surprise proposal with stunning views at The Guillamene in Tramore led to the marriage of this Cork couple, who live in Glanmire.
Aisling Healy, from Farranree, and Jonathan Delaney, from Glanmire, met back in 2020, during Covid.
Aisling explained how they connected through Facebook.
We had been texting for a few weeks before we met up. It just took off after that really!
Jonathan proposed in Tramore and Aisling admitted: “I wasn’t expecting it at all – I even had a tantrum on the way because he made me walk a cliff in the blistering heat. But I said ‘yes’ so that was the main thing!”
They were married on August 3 at St Joseph’s Church, Glanmire, by Fr Cian O’Sullivan.
Their reception was held in the Oriel House Hotel, Ballincollig.
Aisling said: “We viewed so many venues but from the minute we stepped into The Oriel we knew it was what we wanted. They absolutely fell all over us, nothing was a problem, everything we wanted/needed wasn’t a problem. So accommodating!
The staff are so professional and nothing is an issue for them!
“We were so lucky with the weather as it rained all day Friday and again on Sunday, but Saturday the sun came out!”
Jonathan’s suit was custom made by Lucas in Saville, Cork.
The bride tried on many dresses, but eventually went to a family friend to pull off a Sophia Tolli-inspired dress.
Flowers were by Tracey in Florist4u, who was amazing to deal with.
The couple also gave a big shout out to photographer James O’Driscoll and videographer Jerry at Claddagh Video.
The band was The Pearls.
“They were outstanding, the dance floor was full all night!,” the bride said.
The cake was from Kate @ Kool cakes.
The couple had their first dance to Elvis Presley’s Can’t Help Falling In Love.
Aisling explained: “We chose this because we wanted Michael (the father of the groom) to sing it!
He got more attention than the first dance when people realised it was him singing!
The couple had six groomsmen and six bridesmaids, three flower-girls, and three page boys. Recalling the build up to the special day, Aisling said: “Planning was actually so easy and relaxed until the final weeks of table seating, etc, but I’m sure every couple will have this!”
