A couple who met during the Cork City Marathon, while on duty for the Civil Defence and Order of Malta, were married this summer.
Niamh O’Leary and Cian O Callaghan were married on Saturday, August 3, in St Mary’s Cathedral, Killarney, Co Kerry.
The couple were married by Fr Kieran O’Brien
The ceremony was followed by a reception in the Killarney Oaks Hotel.
Niamh said; “Tara and Donal in The Oaks Hotel were outstanding and the day couldn’t have gone any better if we tried from the day we booked our wedding day.”
Cian, who is originally from Dillons Cross, The Glen, Cork city, met Niamh, originally from Killarney, Co Kerry, through the Civil Defence/Order of Malta while on duty for the Cork City Marathon in 2019, where Niamh stole his heart.
Niamh said: “Our wedding consisted of Cork photographers Bismark, Sheenagh and Donnacha, where the fun started and the craic never stopped.
“We would highly recommend them to everyone getting married for their professionalism, craic and overall care for the couple.”
The couple also had a videographer from Kerry LM videography, who worked well with Bismark and ensured the couple had a good day and night.
The bride’s hair and make-up was done by Kerry hairdresser and make-up artists Siobhan from Salon B, Killarney, and Aideen McCarthy, who both did a superb job.
Niamh said: “The craic continued in the Killarney Oaks Hotel where the food was excellent and venue was top notch, all the guests are still talking about it to this very day!”
The band were a well known Kerry band, called Truly Diverse, who had the floor rocking the whole night long.
There was a dance train to the Seige of Ennis and the bride did a ‘his and hers’ quiz.
This was followed by Dj Radio Kerry, Donal Clifford who had the floor rocking into the bright hours of the morning.
The couple said: “Overall, the wedding was a big success with the guests still talking about it to this very day! It has been the best day we have had of our lives so far!”
