A last minute decision to go out led to this couple bumping into each other.

Laura Casey (nee Lynch) is originally from Mayfield, while Nicky Casey is from Carrigtwohill. They met back in June, 2010, on a random night out in The Castle, Carrigtwohill.

The couple were wed at St Mary's Church, Carrigtwohill.

Laura said: “When I first moved here, I decided last minute to go out, as did Nicky - when we both bumped into each other.

Fast forward to 2021, Nicky proposed to me on Christmas morning surrounded by our three beautiful children - it was amazing!

They were married in St Mary’s Church, Carrigtwohill on April 26. Laura said: “My mum purchased my dress in Cinderella’s Closet and we had the incredibly talented Jeanette Cronin for make-up and Christine O’Sullivan for hair - what craic we had with them the morning of! The suits were from Morley’s, Cork.

“Myself and the bridesmaids got our spray tan from Aine at beauty box spray tanning and I got all my little personalised bits from AMF vinyl products!”

Laura’s mum walked her up the aisle to Shania Twain’s From this Moment sung by the amazing Lynda Sloane-Cusack.

The bride’s bouquet had a charm in memory of her dad Denis, who passed away.

“In a sense, he was also there with me walking up the aisle,” Laura said.

There were five bridesmaids and five groomsmen, made up of family and friends. Son Dylan was junior groomsmen, daughter Carly was junior bridesmaid, and the couple’s little boy Clay was ring bearer. Her godson Kyron was page boy.

Darling Buds did the bouquets, corsages, and buttonholes, along with amazing floral pillars with a neon ‘welcome’ sign.

The couple had their reception in The Oriel House Hotel in Ballincollig.

The staff were amazing, especially our wedding co-ordinator Kirsty Long - they honestly couldn’t do enough for us.

Her mother-in-law purchased the wedding cake from Karen’s Cakes, which had a Harry Potter theme, as Nicky is a huge fan.

The couple had a white Jaguar as their wedding car and a luxury bus for the bride party from Occasion Cars.

Darren, of Sax Appeal, performed for the drinks reception and entrance, while J90 performed on the night and were fantastic.

Their first dance was to Shania Twain’s You’re Still The One.
