Another three stunning house vying for Home of the Year

Olivia and Peter Phillips and their family in Louth in Home Of The Year.

A 300-year-old Wicklow cottage, a 1920s terraced house in Dublin, and an eclectic self-build in Louth feature in this episode.

Elaine Mackenzie-Smith and Kevin Coughlan live with their three children in the Wicklow cottage overlooking a lake.

It was built in the 1700s, and Kevin designed a modern family home from it, while Elaine finished it with colour and a sense of style.

Eugene McCarthy lives in the Dublin terraced house with son Alex. In redesigning the century-old property, his main aim was to create a modern home which is sustainable, so he added solar panels and an electric car charging station in the driveway. He describes the interior as contemporary and light-filled.

Olivia and Peter Phillips live in the eclectic self-build in Co. Louth with their three daughters. They built it 20 years ago and during the Covid lockdown, Olivia developed an interest in interior design and completed an online course, and now Peter jokes he never knows what is going to have changed when he walks through the door. The family describes their home as eclectic, with a real mix of new and vintage.

Home Of The Year, airs on RTÉ1, tonight (Tuesday) at 8.30pm.
