Gardaí say the driver of one of the cars involved failed to remain at the scene and has yet to come forward.

Gardaí are appealing for witnesses following a hit-and-run road traffic collision that occurred in Doneraile, Co Cork last Friday afternoon.

Gardaí and emergency services were alerted at approximately 2.30pm to a road traffic incident involving two cars at Brough Cross, Doneraile, on Friday, June 28.

A man in his 20s, who was injured in the incident, was taken by air ambulance to Cork University Hospital where he is being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries.

Gardaí say the driver of one of the cars involved failed to remain at the scene and has yet to come forward.

Investigations are ongoing.

Gardaí are appealing to anyone who may have witnessed this collision to contact them.

A garda spokesperson said: “Any road users or pedestrians who were in the vicinity of Doneraile between 2pm and 2.30pm and have camera footage, including dash-cam, are asked to make this available to investigating Gardaí.

“Anyone with information is asked to contact Mallow Garda Station at 022-31450, the Garda Confidential Line on 1800 666 111, or any garda station.”
