A special good luck message from the Race Director of The Echo Women's Mini Marathon

Good luck everyone!

The clock is counting down to The Echo Women’s Mini-Marathon, taking place in Cork on Sunday, September 17.

The race is scheduled to start at 12pm sharp, and if last year is anything to go by, we expect over 4,000 participants to walk, jog or run the mini-marathon this year.

We have a new, shorter, 5k route this year, which goes through the new, scenic Marina Park, which will enhance this enjoyable day out.

The event is the flagship race in the Cork Athletics calendar, and it gives all involved in athletics enormous satisfaction to be involved in this event, which is now such an integral part of the athletics calendar in Cork every September.

I would like to take this opportunity to thank our sponsors this year, namely, title sponsors The Echo, without whose support the event would not be such a success.

To everyone involved in the organisation of this year’s event we say a very big thank you and look forward to working with you on the day.

Over the years the mini-marathon has grown into a massive fundraising and awareness event for charities from all over Ireland. We are particularly delighted that the race ultimately benefits so many worthy causes, and we invite all participants to fundraise for the charity of their own choice or cause.
