Mayo banish 75 years of hurt to clinch All-Ireland title against Kerry

Mayo are All-Ireland Football Champions for the first time in 75 years, beating Kerry in the final.
They won by three points with a score of 1-20 to 1-17.
Kerry had got off to a great start, and 1-02 from David Clifford helped them to a 1-04 to 1-point lead.
Two pointers from Jack Carney and Ryan O'Donoghue brought Mayo back into the game, and at half-time, the Kingdom had a one-point lead
Darragh Beirne found the net minutes after the break, while Carney and O'Donoghue added further 2-pointers.
Mayo Captain Jack Coyne was full of emotion as he lifted the Sam Maguire.
"To those players and coaches who wore the green and red in years gone by, you have inspired future generations.
"These men inspired us to wear the green and red. You have laid the foundations, inspired, and shown us what it means to play for Mayo."
Coyne said they hope that they honored the legacy that was put down before them.
