Case against Cork man on drugs charges adjourned until November

A man who is accused of counts related to alleged heroin dealing had the case against him put back until November.

Kieran O’Regan, aged 38, of 19 Oak Avenue, Classes Lake, Ovens, County Cork, appeared at Cork District Court.

The defendant is charged with three counts under the Misuse of Drugs Act, the most serious of which, states that he had Diamorphine on May 14, 2025 at Kent railway station, Lower Glanmire Road, Cork, for the purpose of sale or supply at a time when the value of the drugs exceeded €13,000, the threshold figure which allows for a minimum sentence of 10- years unless there are exceptional circumstances.

Because of the ongoing solicitors’ strike, the accused was without legal representation.

Sergeant Aisling Murphy said a book of evidence was awaited in the case.

Judge David Waters adjourned the case until November 10 for preparation and service of a book of evidence.
