Spain’s World Cup success to be documented in four-part Prime Video series

Spain’s historic World Cup win will be chronicled in a four-part docuseries.
Prime Video will air the series, which will feature behind-the-scenes access to the team and detail what led them to their victory over Argentina in the final on July 19.
Spain walked off with the trophy after Ferran Torres scored the winner in extra time to secure the country’s second World Cup title — and first since 2010 in South Africa.
The victory made Spain the first country to simultaneously hold the men’s and women’s World Cup titles, having won the latter in 2023.
The team are unbeaten in their last 38 matches in all competitions – the longest run by any squad in European history.
After their win, the Spanish team returned home to an estimated crowd of almost two million who greeted them on the streets of Madrid.
The docuseries will be available as part of a Prime membership.
A peak audience of 15.8 million viewers tuned in to watch the World Cup final on the BBC.
The event attracted an average audience of 13.9 million on BBC One and BBC iPlayer, with the BBC having a 64% share of all TV viewing.
ITV and ITVX saw an audience peak across devices of 3.8 million viewers.
Former England captain Alan Shearer said on BBC One: “There is no doubt that the right team won.
“From start to finish, Spain controlled possession. They were the ones looking to play football, create chances and get in behind.
“This is a result for football because of the way that they have played.
“Spain deserve it.”
The release date for the series has not yet been confirmed but it is understood it will be before the end of 2026.
