St Patrick's Athletic goalkeeper Joseph Anang has been called up to represent Ghana at this summer's World Cup.

It is the first time in the Dublin club's history that they will have a player represented at the tournament.

Anang won his first and so far only cap for Ghana last November in a friendly against Japan.

Ghana coach Carlos Queiroz made a number of late changes to his squad due to injuries.

Anag, 25, has made nearly 100 appearances for the League of Ireland club after joining from West Ham.

Anang joins Roberto Lopes of Cape Verde in being called up to play at the tournament from the League of Ireland.

They will both miss their clubs' last three Premier Division games.
